Vergence is hiring a Vice President of Strategy & Business Development - a high-impact role in the management group. You will help shape strategic direction, drive funding initiatives, and help turn bold ideas into scalable ventures.

We build, operate, and scale companies side by side with founders and investors. Our core belief is that AI has erased the traditional limits on how fast – and how far – companies can grow. What used to take years now happens in months, soon in weeks. However, while speed may not compromise quality, it doesn’t simplify success. Building large and sustainable businesses has never been harder: product, strategy, brand, design, marketing, recruiting, culture, funding – every discipline is high-stakes, and unforgiving when done poorly.
We operate through a focused portfolio of high-growth ventures in e-commerce, real estate, healthtech, recruitment, and advanced visualization. This includes companies like Marketer.com, Plot.ai, Staffer.ai, and Marketer Real Estate Technologies. We serve thousands of clients all over the world, from small SMBs in California, to large real estate developers like Skanska, Selvaag and OBOS, and agencies like DNB Eiendom, Sotheby’s, ERA and C21.
We have launched 10 ventures so far. Several are already profitable, and 9/10 are either growing fast or executing on highly ambitious roadmaps. In total, we have sold products for more than NOK 1 billion, and currently with 70% of new revenue coming from the US market. Vergence is backed by several solid and long-term investors like Idékapital, MP Pensjon, Altitude Capital, Kvantia and the founder of Adyen.
The Role: Vice President Strategy & Business Development
As VP Strategy & Business Development, you will play a key role on our leadership team. You’ll be close to every major decision, working directly with founders, operators, and leadership teams across the platform.
You will help define, structure, and drive strategic initiatives – new ventures, capital strategy, market entry, and more. This is not a passive role. You’ll be expected to bring structure, speed, and judgment in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
Drive strategic planning, growth initiatives, and capital strategies across ventures
Identify and structure new opportunities and early-stage venture ideas
Lead financial modeling, valuation, budgeting, and risk analysis
Develop and manage strategic partnerships and stakeholder relationships
Serve as a key link between founders, ops teams, and investors
Represent Vergence externally in presentations, negotiations, and due diligence
Actively contribute to the shaping and launch of new ventures
Qualifications
4+ years’ experience in strategy, VC, M&A, PE or top-tier management consulting (MBB level)
Proven ability to assess, model, and execute complex business initiatives
Strong financial modeling and valuation skills
Operational fluency – you enjoy building, not just analyzing
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English required; Norwegian a plus)
High ownership and stamina – this is not a 9-to-5 role
A sharp commercial mind and deep interest in venture building and technology
